Siobhan Murphy-Dance Outreach Tutor - Mullingar Arts Centre.

Siobhan Murphy is a Dance Outreach Tutor, working with the Mullingar Arts Centre, to provide Dance Education to primary Schools around Westmeath.

Siobhan received a Diploma in Dance from the College of Dance, Monkstown, Dublin and a BA Hons Degree in Dance and the Performing Arts from London Studio Centre, Kings Cross.

She runs a dance schools called ‘Dionysus School of Dance’,holding classes in the Mullingar Arts Centre every week. These classes run in six week blocks (terms) and run from Sept - late May/early June. Classes take place on Tues / Wed / Fri evenings and Sat mornings.

The classes are a fusion of Jazz / Contemporary / Classical dance / Musical theatre and Hip Hop. ‘Dionysus’ hold an end of year show, late May / early June, in the Mullingar Arts Centre. All classes are taught by Siobhan Murphy.

At present Siobhan choreographs for the Mullingar Panto Group and the Mullingar Musical Society, as well as teaching for the Mullingar Youth Academy on Saturday afternoons. Siobhan was also choreographer for the Mullingar Student Players for 6 years.

In her spare time, Siobhan is an actress for ‘Rail Theatre Company’ and has performed roles in plays such as 'Jake’s Women' 'Stags and Hens', 'Shakers' and 'Independence'. Rail has previously performed at Electric Picnic.

Sept 2011, Siobhan played the role of 'Ula' in the Mullingar Musical Society’s version of 'The Producers' and 2012 'Pam', (the wife of Gerry) in the Full Monty.

Her claim to fame is working for the Longford Musical Society, alongside Simon Delaney.
